Premium health and fitness club, David Lloyd, has proposed plans for a luxury gym in Stafford.

The club would be situated on land at Stafford Gate, to the north of the M6 and south of Creswell Grove.

The club would aim to create a space where locals can improve their mental and physical health.

David Lloyd said: "The proposed development represents a significant investment in Stafford, delivering a state-of-the-art health and wellbeing facility designed to support active lifestyles for people of all ages.

"The club would provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities, alongside spaces to relax, socialise and spend time with family and friends."

In 2019, outline planning permission was granted on the site for "a mixed-use scheme" which would include a hotel, leisure facility, offices and a nursery.

The proposal suggests that the development would create between 70 and 100 permanent jobs and 50 temporary construction jobs.

David Lloyd claims that the new club would offer a "state-of-the-art gym", heated swimming pools, racquet facilities as well as a spa and exercise studios.

A mere three day period for consultation.......which expires today. It does not seem that the developer is really interested in obtaining the public's opinions.
