The X41 bus service, which usually takes passengers from Stafford to Alton Towers, will not be running this year.

Operated by D&G Bus, the service will no longer be available due to a decrease in service users in 2025.

There has been some backlash online from disgruntled customers as the bus made it easier for those without a car to visit the popular theme park.

One X user wrote: "I can't pay £25-£40 each way in taxis each trip, that bus was a godsend."

Another posted: "Honestly, it's so annoying that D&G have decided to stop running it, it was a popular service. Hoping another operator takes over the route at some point but that's probably not likely."

When asked to comment on the decision, a spokesperson for D&G Bus said: " I can confirm D&G Bus won't be running service X41 this year as the service can no longer be sustained on a commercial basis due to the decrease in patronage experienced in 2025."
