Yesterday (21 May), armed officers responded to reports of two XL Bully dogs fighting each other and biting a man in Stafford.

Police were called to Milton Grove following a 999 call at around 6.35pm.

Officers were told that two dogs, described as XL Bullys, were fighting in the front garden of a home and that they had bitten a man who was with them at the time.

This led to armed officers being sent to the scene.

When police arrived the dogs were contained in the house.

They were then safely sedated and taken to a secure police kennel for assessment.

The man's injuries were not serious and he declined medical treatment.

Two other dogs from inside the property were also taken to the kennel.
