17-year-old boy charged with attempted murder in Stafford

A teenager has been charged after a man in his 60s was stabbed near Stafford Castle golf course on Thursday 14 May.
The man was approached from behind before being attacked and later found on a bench by a member of the public.
The victim remains in a critical but stable condition and he and his family are being supported by specialist officers.
The 17-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night (19 May) and has been charged with attempted murder and theft from a shop.
He is White and of Bulgarian nationality and can't be named due to his age.
Tomorrow (23 May), he will appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre.
The 30-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the investigation, has now been released with no further action.
