Two-storey house could be built in garden in Stafford

A four-bedroom property could be built in the garden of a house in Queensville.
An application was submitted to Stafford Borough Council for permission to build a "two-storey, four-bedroom detached dwelling within the garden of numbers 83 and 85 Silkmore Lane".
Both homes are under the same ownership.
A separate application has been submitted for another three-bed home in the garden of number 83, which the applicant says helps create a "comprehensive and coordinated development of the combined plots".
The application states, the new homes would be designed to match the architecture of other properties in the area including the houses already on the site which are described as "mock-Tudor detailing and gabled roofs."
"The development will maintain the existing building line, scale, and massing typical of properties along Silkmore Lane and Silkmore Crescent," the application said.
Located in Queensville on the south-eastern side of Stafford, the homes would have easy access to local shops, schools and public transport.
The four-bedroom dwelling will be equipped with "a spacious living area, kitchen/dining space, utility room, and WC at ground level" as well as "patio doors providing access to a private rear garden suitable for family use".
The project involves the "development of surplus garden land", which the application suggests is sustainable because it would be creating a new family home "within an established settlement".
There would also be enough space for both properties to have a garden.
Residents have until March 25 to comment on the application, after which the local authority will decide whether to grant permission or not.
