An iconic Stafford landmark has been forced to close following weather damage.

The Ancient High House has had to close its doors as a result of issues relating to this week's stormy weather.

The museum will be closed from today (28 August) to Tuesday (1 September).

Historic Stafford said: "The Ancient High House will be closed from Friday 28 August until Tuesday 1 September 2026 to allow for essential work to be carried out following water ingress caused by last night's storm.

"We hope to reopen on Wednesday 2 September but please do check for the latest updates before travelling.

"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."
