A deer, who has become something of local legend, has died after getting into difficulties in the water.
Bruce the deer, referred to as the 'King of Chasewater', could often be seen strolling around Chasewater and Burntwood.
Staffordshire County Council said: "Known by name, followed online, and photographed countless times, he became part of what made the area special.
"Whether you spotted him on a walk, heard his roar echo across the heath during autumn, or followed his adventures online, chances are Bruce made an impression.
"He may have ruled the local deer herd, but more importantly, he captured the hearts of people across the area."

One person commented on social media: "Can we please have a lasting memorial for this beautiful boy?
"We will miss him walking through the village, rest in peace, beautiful Bruce."
Another said: "Rest in peace Bruce!
"He was a character.
"I feel there has to be a tribute to him.
"We all loved him."
In memory of Bruce, Staffordshire County Council is asking people to be extra careful on roads around Chasewater and Cannock Chase to keep deer safe.
The county council said: "As we remember Bruce, we're also reminding people to take extra care on the roads around Chasewater and Cannock Chase.
"Deer are more active during rutting season, particularly at dawn and dusk."
