Police crackdown on anti-social behaviour in Stafford
By Livia Gregor 5th May 2026
Staffordshire Police has arrested several people on suspicion of public order-related offences as part of an effort to tackle anti-social behaviour in Stafford town centre.
In recent weeks, officers from Stafford Borough local policing team (LPT) have responded to a number of offences ranging from assaults to public order offences and breaches of the public space protection orders (PSPO) currently operating in the area.
Police have worked with local partners to review CCTV footage and collaborated with the local authority to identify potential suspects and take appropriate action.
Six boys aged between 12 and 15 years old have been arrested on suspicion of offences including assault, public order offences and breaches of the PSPO.
They have been placed on conditional police bail which prohibits them from entering certain areas of the town centre.
Several people have also been referred through to the Youth Offending Team to progress.
In addition, fixed penalty notices of £100 each have been issued to individuals found in breach of the PSPO.
The fines aim to protect public spaces from anti-social behaviour and related criminal activity.
Both high-visibility and plain clothes operations will continue in the coming weeks as officers continue to combat issues in the community.
