A physiotherapist, working in Stafford, will be taking on an intense golfing challenge to raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

The suicide prevention charity runs a helpline and webchat for people who are struggling or in crisis.

They also work to change the culture around mental health and suicide.

Jack Reynolds, 31, a physiotherapist at True Physio's Stafford clinic, will begin his first round of golf on 27 June at 4:45am.

He aims to complete the course by sunset at 9:20pm.

Jack will be joined by his friend Elliott Varmar, 28, who he met while working for NHS critical care during the pandemic.

Elliot will be raising money for brain injury charity, Headway.

Over the course of 17 hours, the pair will cover 43,893 yards, almost 24.9 miles.

They will be completing the challenge on foot without the help of buggies and will be carrying their golf bags with them the whole way.

Equating to five and a half rounds of golf, the boys will need to make sure they are well-rested in the days leading up to the feat.

However, this could be difficult for Jack, who became dad to new baby Isaac just two weeks ago.

Jack said: "Elliot and I wanted to raise money for causes close to our hearts, doing something we both love.

"As a passionate golfer who works in the sport professionally, this challenge made perfect sense.

"Elliot has personal experience with brain injuries in his family, and CALM is a charity that means everything to me.

"I've had my own mental health struggles, and their work genuinely saves lives.

"It'll be a tough day, but worth every moment.

"We hope this will also help raise awareness around mental health and brain injury support, two subjects that deserve far more conversation and understanding."
