On Sunday 22 March, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service extinguished a fire in a derelict building in Stafford.

Fire crews were called to Church Lane in Sandon at around 12:10pm following reports of a large amount of smoke coming from the area.

Three fire engines attended the scene, and two hose reel jets were used to put out the blaze.

Roof tiles were also removed to allow firefighters to dampen down hotspots.

Nobody was reported to have been injured.

It is thought the fire was accidental and crews left the scene at 8:30pm.
