Over the weekend, firefighters combated a fire at a derelict building in Stafford.

On Sunday (27 September), at around 1am, crews were called to Church Lane in Sandon following reports of a fire.

Four appliances attended the scene where a derelict building was found to be well alight.

Firefighters removed roof tiles and used two hose reel jets and two main jets to extinguish the blaze.

No one was injured.

According to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service: "Crews remained at the scene until 3pm to monitor and extinguish any hotspots.

"The cause of the fire was deemed to be deliberate."
