‘Beloved local’ cafe in Stafford given new lease of life
By Livia Gregor 24th Mar 2026
A coffeeshop, which has been a staple of Chapel Street for several years, is under new management.
Sarah's Cafe, formerly Theo's and MK Cafe, opened earlier this month.
New owner Sarah Gillies has taken over the coffee shop, aiming to create a welcoming, town-centre venue where people can unwind and tuck into cosy comfort food.
Speaking about her decision to open the cafe she said: "Sarah's Cafe has been a beloved local spot for many years, welcoming visitors from all walks of life.
"When the opportunity to take over came up, I couldn't resist.
"Owning my own food establishment has always been a dream of mine, and this cafe was the perfect place to turn that dream into a reality."
Located just around the corner from the train station and Stafford College, it is the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat on the go.
Sarah is keen to emphasise that the cafe is a place for all to enjoy, "locals and students alike".
She added: "Our menu is all about fresh, homemade food with a variety that suits every taste.
"From a hearty full English breakfast to the local favourite Staffordshire Oatcakes, and comforting classics like Cottage Pie and Steak Pie, there's something for everyone.
"We pour our passion into every dish, making sure each meal is crafted with care and quality ingredients."
The cafe is open 8am until 2pm, Monday to Saturday with brand-new signage soon to be added.
