Penkridge Open Air Festival: Friday 28- Sunday 30 August

Three unmissable days of live music will be taking place in Penkridge this weekend.

The popular festival returns with a selection of fantastic musical talent to keep crowds entertained.

Headliners include ABC, Heaven 17, The Fizz and Toyah.

Camping and free parking is available.

Cold picnic food is allowed as long as it is in sealed original packaging or clear tupperware.

Driffield Championship Dog Show: Friday 28- Monday 31 August

The Driffield Championships Dog Show will take place at Staffordshire County Showground from tomorrow.

This year, the show will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Sunday 30 August: Last chance to visit Izaak Walton's Cottage

History fans have one last chance to visit Izaak Walton's Cottage before it closes for the season.

The next time it will be open will be in May 2027.

Izaak Walton, acclaimed author of The Compleat Angler, died in Winchester in 1683, leaving his cottage to the people of Stafford.

The thatched 16th century half-timbered cottage now serves as a museum where people can learn about the life of Izaak Walton from his early days as a linen draper's apprentice to his staunch Royalist affiliations to his love of angling.

Located in the hamlet of Shallowford, between Stafford and Eccleshall, the house has a beautiful garden, picnic area and gift shop.

Admission and parking is free although donations are greatly appreciated.

It is open from 1pm to 5pm.
