Heritage Open Days

The popular festival, which celebrates history across England, returns this month.

Here are places open in and around Stafford this weekend:

• St Chad's (11 and 12 September)
• Guided walk of Hopton Heath battlefield (12 September)
• Eccleshall Road Cemetery (12 September)
• Gnosall Parish Family and Local History Search at Grosvenor Centre (12 September)
• Gnosall- Old Lock-Up (12 September)
• Holy Trinity Eccleshall (13 September)

Certain events will need to be pre-booked.

Sunday 13 September: Battle of Britain Commemoration

A special service will take place to commemorate the Battle of Britain this Sunday.

The event will take place at St Mary's at 12pm.

It will be followed by wreath laying at the Borough War Memorial in Victoria Square.

Saturday 12 and Saturday 13 September Antiques Fair

The popular fair, hosted by Number One Events, will return this weekend.

There will be over 300 stalls for attendees to take a look at meaning there will be something for every type of collector.

Number One Events said: "Our visitors will find a range of antiques and collectables at our fair, including furniture, art, silver, glass, porcelain, jewellery, books, toys, and retro collectables.

"The fair takes place at Stafford County Showground, which is ideally located just north of Stafford on the A518 and only a few minutes' drive from junction 14 of the M6 motorway."

Saturday 12 September: The Shakin' Stevens Story

An award-winning musical tribute to the 80s biggest selling singles artists lands in Stafford this Saturday.

The Shakin' Stevens Story is a show full of brilliant talent and nostalgic performances.

West End star, Rebel Dean, will take the audience on a musical journey with the help of a fantastic live band.

Gatehouse Theatre said: "Put your bopping shoes on, dust off the double denim, slick back your hair and get ready to sing-along, dance-along and join in with the biggest and best 'Shaky' party to hit UK theatres….ever!"
