This Friday and Saturday (18 and 19 September), Shugborough Estate will be free to visit as part of the Heritage Open Days festival.

The National Trust property, located in Milford, is usually only free to members with non-members needing to pay admission.

Visitors can enjoy the Georgian mansion, once home to Patrick Lichfield, 5th Earl and official wedding photographer to Prince Charles (Charles III) and Lady Diana Spencer.

There is also a beautiful walled garden to explore, currently being restored by three rare Tamworth pigs, as well as a working model farm, home to Southdown sheep and Longhorn cattle.

People can also complete the Zodiac Trail, leading to the Chinese House, as part of East and South East Asian Heritage Month.

Heritage Open Days gives people free access to sites of historical interest which are often closed to the public or charge an entry fee.

The festival was founded in 1994 with the aim of making history and heritage more accessible.

It is made possible by the National Trust with the support of Postcode Lottery players as well as local organisations, community groups and volunteers.

Farm Manager Kirsty said: "It's a great opportunity for people to see what we do here at Shugborough, to learn about the history of the estate but also see where we are going with the future.

"It's a great chance for people who aren't members or don't really know what the National Trust is about to come and see what we do and if you like it, you can become a member and visit anytime!"

No ticket is required to enter, visitors can simply turn up on either of the days.
