Vibe 1 radio to face bailiffs after eviction notice served
By Livia Gregor 26th Jun 2026
Popular local radio station Vibe 1 has been unable to provide its usual programming after being booted out of its premises at Stafford Octagon.
Many listeners will have noticed the station has been broadcasting a skeleton service since last week with some songs being played multiple times in the same hour.
On Thursday 18 June, Vibe 1 was served an eviction notice by Sheriff & Penny Bailiffs on behalf of the building's landlord New Beacon Group LTD.
The notice, which was pinned to the studio door, stated: "Any attempt by you or your agents to enter the demised premises will result in criminal/civil proceedings being taken against you.
"You have now 14 days in which to claim your goods or they will be disposed of".
Vibe 1 was contacted and said "Vibe 1 is currently on air but not providing normal programming at present.
"This is due to an ongoing dispute with the New Beacon Group, who we feel have failed to meet all of their obligations and promises set out in the tenancy of our studios.
"This has significantly impacted the station's day to day operations, and we will be seeking a resolution or compensation for the financial impact of this dispute in the coming days & weeks.
"We are disappointed in the New Beacon Group who have been difficult and unforthcoming on all issues and matters throughout our tenancy.
"Our presenters, supporters and listeners will always come first over disgusting underhand and frankly immoral tactics like this.
"We are and always will be a Community Radio Station for Stafford."
New Beacon Group was contacted and asked to comment on this matter but did not reply.
