A former Stafford office block, which could be converted into flats, was sold at auction in March.

Located on Martin Street, the site was granted full planning permission to be converted into 17 apartments in January 2025.

The building was originally part of Staffordshire County Council and is 947 square metres in size.

The auction was hosted by butters john bee on 6 March at the DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent.

A former NHS clinic with planning permission to be converted into 12 one-bedroom flats, was among other properties up for sale.

The Martin Street property is in the Wrenaissance style, a revival of late-17th century Baroque architecture, which was popular in 1895 when the offices were built.

It was designed by architect Henry Hare whose other works include Oxford Town Hall, Wolverhampton Public Library and Central Library in Islington.

The property had a guide price of £525,000 and has been grade two listed since February 1994.
