On Monday (11 May), we asked our readers to vote for their favourite Stafford cafe.

The poll lasted for 48 hours as many locals were keen to share their opinions.

It was a tough competition with over 20 establishments having been nominated.

We are pleased to announce that Cup a Cha has been crowned Stafford's best cafe, something which is apt considering the coffee shop's royal theme.

Located on the corner of Malt Mill Lane, the tearoom serves a delicious and wide range of food, drinks and snacks.

The cafe has over 600 pieces of royal memorabilia including a letter from King Charles III and a whole host of royalty-themed decor.

Cup a Cha has won multiple awards, including 'The Best Afternoon Tea Establishment in the West Midlands' at the Midlands Food and Hospitality Awards 2022.

In 2023, the coffee shop featured on ITV during the Coronation celebrations.

One reader said of the cafe: "Fabulous food, wonderful staff and a brilliant atmosphere.

"Best jacket potatoes in Stafford!"

Another wrote: "Cup a Cha is actually the best and most interesting cafe, with lovely food, in the Universe!"

Honourable mentions include Munch and Slurp, French& Byrne and The Soup Kitchen who each received a large number of votes.

Speaking on the win, a spokesperson for Cup a Cha said: "It means so much to know that people are out there still rooting for our independents.

"Hospitality feels a very hard industry to be in at the moment.

"Shout outs like that make us remember why we do it."

"Thanks so much!"
