Stafford Pride parade cancelled with festival still to go ahead

The Stafford Pride parade will not take place as part of this year's Pride celebrations.
On Tuesday (9 June), event organisers announced on social media that the usual Pride parade was cancelled as there had not been a great enough interest in participation.
However, they were keen to reiterate that the main festival will still be happening in Victoria Park on Saturday 8 August.
The chairman of Stafford Pride said: "Due to lower-than-needed participation and engagement, we have made the difficult decision to pause the parade for 2026.
"Instead, we will be refocusing our funding towards delivering a bigger, stronger and more sustainable Stafford Pride Festival in Victoria Park."
Attendees will be able to enjoy headline acts including Big Brother star Sam Ashby and Beyonce Fierce, the UK's number one Beyonce tribute act.
There will also be a funfair, street food stalls and a charity and community area.
The Chairman added: "We would like to thank everyone who has already purchased tickets to the festival and look forward to welcoming you into Victoria Park in a few months time.
"Pride is protest; and our protest marches on."
