I can't believe it's been two whole years since you elected me as your MP!

It's genuinely been the best two years of my life – I have loved working alongside you all!

I thought this might be a nice opportunity to reflect on two big things we've achieved together – and two big goals for the future.

Because there's plenty left to do!

Huge investment into local education

Probably my proudest achievement so far is running a campaign with the amazing Stafford College to get it selected as one of just four Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence Colleges in England.

This means millions of pounds of investment into new facilities and equipment, and it will help local young people get into well-paid, skilled jobs.

This investment sits alongside the £1 million I secured for a high street Adult Skills Centre in Stafford, which will expand learning opportunities to mature learners.

We're getting Youth Hub in Stafford and in Newcastle-under-Lyme!

After my campaign, Stafford and Newcastle-under-Lyme have been chosen as sites for a new Youth Hub – this is really exciting news for our young people as it will hugely improve the services we have to help them get into work.

This is something I have been pushing Ministers really hard for.

The new Youth Hubs will mean local young people will have direct access to employment support, skills training, and wider services to get them into employment – all in one place.

Joined up support like this for 16-24 year olds will make a big difference – we already have incredible education facilities, and this will build on that.

And now onto some goals!

Finding a long-term solution to Sandon Road flooding

My flooding taskforce has already achieved some good partial solutions, such as securing an additional £5,000 to £10,000 per property to better protect the 33 worst-affected homes and installing a non-return valve to reduce the severity of the flooding. But there's work to do to secure a long-term solution.

The good news is that (after all my nagging!) the Government has now changed the flooding funding rules.

My Taskforce is getting a proposal together so we can hopefully secure further funding we need to properly address the flooding.

Better health services close to home

From speaking to many of you, I know how important having better urgent care services are in Stafford.

That's why I've been working with local NHS leaders and Government Ministers to make the case for an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at County Hospital in Stafford.

A UTC would take the pressure of our A&E, meaning shorter wait times and would mean children can be seen for minor injuries and illnesses.

When I surveyed local people, 99% of people backed the idea (and since when did 99% of people agree on anything?!).

We're closer than ever to making this happen now, as planning permission has gone in – but I'll keep working to get this over the line.

It's been an incredible two years – and I've loved all the community support for my campaigns so far.

But there's still so much more to do.
