Now in its 16th year, UK Parliament Week (UKPW) is a nationwide celebration that gives people of all ages the chance to learn about what parliament is, what it does and how they can get involved.

MP for Stafford, Eccleshall, and the villages, Leigh Ingham, is keen for schools, youth groups, and community organisations in the area to take part in the event which takes place later this year (23 to 29 November).

Those who sign up will receive a free kit packed with resources, from banners and stickers to a pop-up ballot box and the Petitions Pursuit board game.

In 2025, more than 2.4 million people in the UK and beyond got involved in UKPW and Leigh Ingham MP wants Stafford to be at the forefront of this year's event.

She said: "I am such a believer that young people should have their voices heard, and UK Parliament Week is one of the best ways to do that!

"It shows young people just how politics works in the real world and how they can be a part of it.

"I'd love to see our schools and youth groups leading the way, whether that's running their own debates, exploring petitions, or simply learning more about how Parliament shapes everyday life.

"Stafford, Eccleshall, and the villages has so many engaged, passionate young people, and I want to make sure they are engaging with democracy."
