Stafford man who strangled partner jailed
By Livia Gregor 23rd Mar 2026
A man, from Mosspit, who strangled and assaulted his ex-partner, has been jailed.
In September 2025, Kieran Hemming, 42, turned up his ex-partner's house and demanded to speak to her.
He then forced his way into her home before pushing her to the floor.
On another occasion, in June 2024, he strangled her following an argument inside the house.
He also sent multiple threatening emails.
Staffordshire Police said: "After hearing about the abuse, we worked tirelessly to support the survivor and to gather all of the evidence needed to secure charges against him."
On 17 March, Hemming pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, assault by beating and harassment (putting a person in fear of violence) at Stafford Crown Court.
He has been jailed for one year and eight months.
Detective Constable Jessica Scott, from the criminal investigations department (CID), said: "Hemming subjected the survivor to a torrent of physical and emotional abuse and has rightfully been brought to justice for his actions.
"We're determined to support survivors of domestic abuse and to act robustly against those responsible."
