After almost a decade, two popular team members from The Bird in Hand will be bidding the pub goodbye.

Sarah and Beckie, who have been working at the Stafford bar for nine years, have decided to move on to something new.

The pair have been running The Bird in Hand since the departure of local legends Dee and Terry, who left the pub to take on what they described as a "new challenge" in Birmingham.

Sarah and Beckie said: "We would just like to say that it has been a pleasure to work at The Bird In Hand over the past nine years.

"We would like to thank Dee and Terry for the opportunity they gave us.

"We have all become a family and a community and would do anything for anyone but unfortunately our time at The Bird has come to an end.

"We would like to thank all the customers throughout the years, and all the staff for their support.

"We hope the new manager taking over can make this as successful as it once was and to the staff who have chosen to stay, we wish you all the best.

Beckie's last shift will be on Saturday daytime (26 September) and Sarah's will be on Sunday daytime (27 September) with locals are invited to pop in to say farewell.
