A running club, which meets weekly in Stafford town centre, will celebrate its first anniversary this weekend.

On the Coffee Run Club, which is hosted by cafe Monk and Smuggler, will mark one year since its launch, this Saturday (25 April).

People of all ages and abilities take part in the run which begins at 8am each week, some joggers even bring their dogs.

The route is 5K, starting and finishing at Monk and Smuggler with a mustering system in place to ensure no one is left behind.

Runners order drinks before setting off meaning that their beverage of choice awaits them when they return.

Monk and Smuggler said: "We started the run club to build community, another place people could feel like they belonged and not so isolated and lonely.

"The club is kindly volunteer-led, we would like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteer leaders who weekly plan routes and look after the runners, none of this would be possible without them.

"Many in the group have become friends and you can see how they support each other and cheer one another on, it's really heart warming."
