An election will be held for a seat on Stafford Borough Council next month following the death of Cllr Angela Loughran, in April.

Cllr Angela Loughran was elected as a councillor in 1997, representing Manor Ward and serving as mayor in 2013.

The Manor Ward By-Election will take place on Thursday 16 July with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm on the day.

Residents have until 30 June to register to vote, click here to find out more.

Those who wish to vote via the post have until 5pm on Wednesday 1 July to apply.

It is important that people bring photographic identification such as a UK passport, driving licence or disabled blue badge.

Anyone without identification shouldn't worry and can apply for a free 'Voter Authority Certificate' at www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate until 8 July.
