Chief Inspector Saqib Butt is committed to tackling the issues that matter to local people in Stafford according to Staffordshire Police.

With around 23 years of policing experience already under his belt, Butt began his new role in March.

He has a strong operational background, including extensive work in neighbourhood policing, public order, counter terrorism, organised crime and response.

Over the past few months, Butt has been getting to know the community, local businesses and partners and listening to people's concerns.

Chief Inspector Butt said: "People want to feel safe, see officers out and about and know we will act when issues are raised—and that's exactly what we're focused on delivering.

"Victims are at the heart of everything we do.

"When someone calls us, it matters, and it's our responsibility to listen, take it seriously and support them.

"We're taking firm action on anti-social behaviour, shoplifting, drug-related issues and robbery, focusing on those causing the most harm in our communities.

"I always keep an ear on the radio and take a close interest in what's happening locally.

"Recently, while out on patrol, I detained an individual suspected of motorcycle theft.

"It's important to me that I stay connected to the frontline and support my teams.

"Stafford is a great place to live and work, and we'll continue to build trust by being visible, working with partners and dealing with problems early.

"I want the community of Stafford to feel confident in coming to us when they need help, knowing they will be listened to and supported."
