This afternoon, The Prince of Wales pub, located on Weston Road, will once again open its doors to the public.

Father and son duo, Phil and Matthew Osbourne, are looking forward to welcoming customers from 2pm onwards with live entertainment from band Sound Party.

However, this is not the first time the pair have been behind the bar at The Prince of Wales.

The family previously ran the pub for several years before giving up the bar in 2021 following a dispute with the previous lease holders regarding the future of the venue.

Many exciting improvements have been made in preparation for the opening including the addition of a brand new pool table, new carpet throughout the pub and new flooring in the toilets.

There are also two new darts boards and two 75-inch TVs located in the bar area.

In the coming weeks, an outdoor tv screen will be installed for customers to enjoy live sporting events.

Football fans are in luck as the pub will be extending its opening hours for the upcoming home nation games in the World Cup.

Phil and Matthew said: "We have returned now in hopes of restoring the pub to what it was and what it has the potential to be.

"We aim to bring back a community pub where people will feel welcomed.

"We plan to continue to improve the pub as we go and ensure it is a place people continue to wish to visit.

"We'll also be offering a range of drinks promotions and special offers.

"In addition, we'll be hosting live entertainment every Saturday evening and are always looking for new bands and performers to get involved.

"We are also currently looking for darts and dominoes teams to join us."
