By Livia Gregor 13th Apr 2026
A Channel 5 documentary featuring officers from Staffordshire Police premiered earlier this month at a theatre in Stafford.
Motorway Cops: Catching Britain's Speeders, will be broadcast across the country at 8pm this evening (13 March) giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look into the fast-paced and complex work carried out by police to keep the country's roads safe.
The new series will explore how officers from Staffordshire Police's road crime team take down criminals using the county's road network, respond to emergencies and support wider police operations.
On 1 April, an audience of around 100 invited guests gathered to watch the first episode of the show at the Gatehouse Theatre.
The premiere was hosted in partnership by Screen Staffordshire, Purple Productions, Objective Media Group and the Royal Television Society Midlands.
A Q&A with Staffordshire Police, the programme's series editor and creative director was held after the screening.
Launched in June 2025, Screen Staffordshire played a vital role in the production of the programme.
The film office was set up by We Are Staffordshire and is part of the county council.
Robin Hall, Staffordshire County Council's cabinet member for economy and skills said:
"This was a fantastic evening which I was pleased to be able to attend and demonstrated the growing number of film and television productions coming to Staffordshire.
"Screen Staffordshire helps production companies to achieve their aims and ambitions in our county.
"This not only puts Staffordshire on the map nationally and internationally, but helps to attract visitors, investment and local employment."
