Come and meet some of Staffordshire’s most talented local authors this weekend
By Livia Gregor 17th Jun 2026
A bookshop, located on Tipping Street, is championing some of the area's most talented independent authors at a special community gathering this Saturday (20 June).
That Little Bookshop's 'Beyond the Bookshelves' event invites attendees to meet local authors, learn more about their work, buy books and even have them signed.
It is a great way for readers to find both fiction and non-fiction books to enjoy while helping Staffordshire-based writers receive recognition.
That Little Bookshop said: "Having been inundated with requests to stock indie/local authors' books since we opened the doors to That Little Bookshop in August 2025, we have been actively trying to create a suitable platform to host such a wide range of authors.
"With bookshop space in short supply, despite the addition of new bookshelves earlier this year, we decided that an authors' event was the solution.
"Indie and self-published authors invest their lives in their work and getting their books into bookshops can be challenging.
"That Little Bookshop wanted to support our local authors in the most efficient way to get their work seen.
"Beyond the Bookshelves indie/local authors' event is a great way to find a new author and support their dream."
Not all of the authors who were invited will be able to attend this weekend's gathering, however, if all goes to plan there should be further events in the future.
It is free to attend 'Beyond the Bookshelves' which will take place at Oddfellow's Hall between 11am and 3pm.
