By-election dates set following deaths of borough and district councillors in Stafford Borough and South Staffordshire District

By-elections will take place in Stafford Borough and South Staffordshire District next month following the deaths of two councillors.
Former South Staffordshire District Council leader Roger Lees and former Stafford Mayor Angela Loughran, who served on Stafford Borough Council for almost 30 years, both died in April, both aged 82.
By-elections will take place in Stafford's Manor ward and South Staffordshire's Himley and Swindon ward on Thursday, July 16.
The candidates standing for election are set to be announced later this month.
Polling stations will be open in the two wards from 7am until 10pm on July 16.
Residents can register to vote until Tuesday, June 30 and the deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday, July 1.
Voters attending a polling station will need to bring photographic ID with them, such as a UK passport, driving licence or disabled blue badge.
Anyone who does not have ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate until 5pm on Wednesday, July 8, at www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.
