'A fantastic atmosphere': County day celebrations take place in Stafford
By Livia Gregor 5th May 2026
Locals gathered in Market Square yesterday (4 May) to mark the 10th annual Staffordshire Day.
The day aims to showcase the county's history, traditions, local talent and businesses.
Attendees were treated to performances from 87 Magic Voices Choir and Stafford Morris Dancers.
Many local groups and businesses took part in the day with plenty of opportunity for people to buy gifts, homeware and delicious street food.
The event was hosted by Cat K from Vibe 1 with music provided by DJ Mark Trax.
This marks the first time that Staffordshire Day celebrations have happened in Market Square, having previously taken place in Victoria Park.
Lorraine Conkey, Director of Staffordshire Cultural Events CIC / LR Partnership Events, said: "It was good to see people coming into town and making use of what was on offer.
"Events like this are about bringing people in, supporting local businesses and giving community groups a platform.
"There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.
"Thanks go to everyone involved in making the event happen, including the performers, dance groups, traders, community organisations, suppliers and volunteers who supported the day.
"Thanks also to the teams working on the day to keep everything running properly."
